Laurence Wismer Budd, “Larry”, 66, of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away on December 11, 2024, at his home in Mechanicsville, MD, with his wife and son by his side. Born on April 10, 1958, in Morristown, NJ, he was the son of the late Carole Lorraine Budd and the late Walter George Budd. Larry was the loving husband of Phyllis Lynn Budd, whom he married in Fallston, MD on October 14, 1984. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Andrew Budd (Lexxi), of Mechanicsville, MD, his siblings, Lauren Nasuta of Pasadena, MD, Carole Barrett of Bowie, MD, and Sandra Carpenter of Pataskala, OH, and his grandchildren, Everly, Easton, and Emersyn Budd. Larry graduated from Joppatowne High School and moved to St. Mary’s County, MD from Joppatowne, MD in 1987. He was a maintenance foreman for Charles County Public Schools for 34 years, retiring on April 1, 2020. Larry was a member of the Joppa-Magnolia VFC, where he served as a fire and ambulance volunteer for nine years. He enjoyed hunting, particularly squirrel and deer. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, Helen, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Nausta, Martin Barrett, Larry Carpenter, Charles Monnin, Lenny Hubbell, and Pat Murphy.
