A Public Viewing will be held in Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 31 from 5 - 8 PM.
Lloyd William "Bill" Baker, Jr., 71, of Mechanicsville, MD, died August 28, 2004 in George Washington University Hospital. He was born December 24, 1932 in Lebanon, OR, to the late Harriet Riley Baker and Lloyd William Baker, Sr. He was the loving husband of Patricia Baker whom he married March 6, 1993 in Mechanicsville, MD. He was the step-father of Roland Mann and his wife Lisa, Robert Mann and his wife Kelly, John Mann and his wife Monika, Kevin Mann and his wife Jessica and Theresa Mann all of Mechanicsville, MD. He was the brother of Arlene Smith and Buster Baker of Oregon and Arlone Newman of New Jersey. He is survived by 4 step-grandchildren; Kristen Mann, Megan Mann, Julia Mann and Jackson Mann. Mr. Baker was employed for four years as a counselor at the Marcey House. He also served in the United States Army for 8 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed playing golf and was on the Senior Blitz Team of Wicomico Shores Golf Course. The family received friends Tuesday, August 31, 2004 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held today, Wednesday, September 1st at 9:30 AM in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Pastor Brian Shepard officiating. Pallbearers will be Roland Mann, Robert Mann, John Mann, John Rubenstahl, Gregory Rubenstahl and Joseph Rubenstahl. Contributions may be made to the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
