Lois Ann Russell, 71, of Hollywood, Maryland, passed away on June 5, 2026, in Georgetown, Washington, D.C.

Born on December 19, 1954, in Leonardtown, Maryland, Lois was the daughter of William and Henrietta Bean. She was a 1972 graduate of Great Mills High School.

On April 4, 1975, Lois married Mike Russell at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hollywood, Maryland. Together, they built a life rooted in family, faith, and community.

Lois worked for more than 20 years as a cost accountant for the NAWCAD Comptroller and retired on December 31, 2016. Her dedication and service were a meaningful part of her professional life.

Lois was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was deeply loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. No matter the occasion, she was always there to celebrate life’s milestones with her family, especially those of her beloved grandchildren, whom she loved beyond measure.

While we will miss her more than words can express, we will forever cherish the countless memories she created with us. Whether it was a shopping trip, a girls’ getaway, a spontaneous road trip, camping adventures, golf cart rides, a day at the casino, or simply sitting under the pavilion watching the hummingbirds, Lois made every moment special. Her love, laughter, and presence will remain in our hearts forever.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, William Benjamin and Henrietta Marie (Johnson) Bean; and her siblings, Mary Guy, Charles Bean, Bert Bean, and Jack Bean.

Lois is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Michael “Mike” Russell; her children, Joseph Patrick Brooks, Jr. and his wife, Ginger, of Valley Lee, Maryland, and Sheri Lea Norris and her husband, Tony, of Leonardtown, Maryland; and her siblings, Elizabeth Peterson of Marietta, Georgia, Billy Bean of Hollywood, Maryland, Ernie Bean of Hollywood, Maryland, Leonard Bean of Hollywood, Maryland, Eileen Lang of Hollywood, Maryland, and Leo Bean of Hollywood, Maryland.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan McLean, Summer Brooks, Courtney Norris, and Garrett Norris; her great-grandchildren, Banks and Baylin Bock; and her godchildren, Deanna Burroughs and Tyler Lang.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. with prayers recited at 7:00 PM In the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM. with Deacon Joe Lloyd officiating in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Leonardtown, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Brooks, Ryan McLean, Tyler Lang, Chris Burroughs, Larry Johnson and Tony Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Summer Brooks, Courtney Norris, Garrett Norris and Deanna Burroughs.

Contributions may be made to Patuxent Moose Lodge 2393, Hollywood, MD.
