Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD with John Nickey officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery Bushwood, MD. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel Leonardtown, MD. Loraine Ann Welty Lacey, 84, of Bushwood, MD passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014 in Bushwood, MD. Born on November 9, 1929 in Washington, DC, She was the daughter of the late George Henry Welty and Lottie May Adams Welty. Loraine married Thomas (Tommy) Lenehan Lacey on July 31, 1950 in Sacred Heart Church in Bushwood, MD. Tommy preceded her in death in September 1999. Loraine is survived by her daughter Linda Lacey McClave (husband Gary) of Bushwood, MD. Siblings; Joan (Tucker) Lacey and Helen Oliver all of Bushwood, MD. Her niece Karen Ann (husband David, sons Thomas and Andrew) of Charlotte Hall, MD had a very special place in her heart and was like a daughter to her. Her Baltimore cousins were also very special to her, Norman Nickey, Jr. (Sharon) and family, John Nickey (Suzanne) and family, Kelly Nickey and family. In addition to her parents and husband, Loraine was preceded in death by her sisters Thelma Loretta Mattingly (husband Bob) and Evelyn May Owens (husband Jim). Loraine moved to St. Mary’s County in 1950 from Washington, DC, she was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family. Most family get toethers were spent having cookouts, playing cards and sharing lots of laughs. Loraine’s family would like to express a special thanks to the caregivers at Taylor Farm Assisted Living. Their compassion, care, and hugs meant the world to Loraine and her family. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD with John Nickey officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery Bushwood, MD. Pallbearers will be Andrew Fisher, David Fisher, Thomas Fisher, Francis (Franny) Huseman, Mike Owens, and Adam Scherer.
