Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 16th at 11:00 AM in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bryantown, MD with Fr. Klein Stuber officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation: Public visitation will be held in the Funeral Home on Sunday, January 15th from 2 - 5 PM with prayers being said at 3:00 PM. Eleanor "Loretta" Wood, 93, of Charlotte Hall, MD died January 11, 2006 in St. Mary's Nursing Center. Born September 20, 1912 in Palmers, MD to the late John Edward and Lola Lee Hayden Gass. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Schmidt Wood on September 12, 1975. She is survived by her children: Phillip Alvin Wood, Freddie Wood and Elaine Wheeler; siblings: George Gass, Marion Slade, John H. Gass, Margaret Wheeler, Ernestine Keaton and Catherine Corbin. She was also preceded in death by her son: Buck Wood and siblings: Jeannette Wise, Geraldine Gass, Malcolm Gass, Mary Magelene Wood, Horace Gass and Blanche Gass. Mrs. Wood was the owner of Wood's Produce in Charlotte Hall, MD. The family received friends in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home on Sunday, January 15th.
