Services: A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 11 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the MD Veteran Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD at 1 PM. Visitation: A Viewing and Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2005 from 10 AM till 11 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel, 41590 Fenwick Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Margaret Gertrude Jameson, 78, of Leonardtown, MD died August 29, 2005 in Leonardtown, MD. Born December 4, 1926 in Newport, MD, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Martha Gertrude Pilkerton Murphy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Sylvester Jameson whom she married in Charles County, MD on August 30, 1946. She is survived by her children, Donald Jameson of Churchton, MD, David Jameson of Hughesville, MD, Elaine Gordon of Afton, TN and Mary Jo Curry of Leonardtown, MD and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Lewis J. "Jerry" Wathen and Robert "Vernon" Wathen both of LaPlata, MD, Marie Murphy of Pomfret, MD and Joseph Edward Wathen, Jr. of Newport, MD. Mrs. Jameson was a graduate of Glasva High School, Class of 1943 and relocated to St. Mary's County from Hughesville, MD. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and canning. The family will receive friends in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 from 10:00 â?? 11:00 AM. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop William McClean officiating. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham with interment to follow. Pallbearers for Mrs. Jameson will be Donald Jameson, Davie Jameson, Vernon Wathen, David Jameson, Jerry Wathen and Bob Gordon. Honorary Pallbearer will be Greg Curry.
