Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 7PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Msgr. Karl Chimiak officiating. Graveside Services will be Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Visitation: Viewing and Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 5PM till 8PM in the funeral home chapel. Margaret Irene Davis, 84, of Mechanicsville, MD died December 9, 2007 at her residence. Born February 11, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late Herman and Sophie Schweffler. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph William Davis. whom she married on May 21, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY and who preceded her in death on September 1, 1999. She is survived by her daughter Diann Bean of Valley Lee, MD and was preceded in death by her daughter JoAnn Thompson of Park Hall, MD. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Tom Thompson Jr., Rob Bean Jr., Michael Thompson, Christopher Thompson, Steve Bean, Joe Bean, Danny Thompson and Adam Bean as well as 5 great-grandchildren; Logan Bean, Allison Thompson, Tommy Thompson III, Kelly Nichole Thompson and Jack Thompson. Margaret moved to St.Mary's County in 1963 from Port Jefferson in Long Island, NY. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, shopping on Saturdays with her daughter Diann and family gatherings. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM with Msgr. Karl Chimiak officiating. Interment will take place on January 8, 2008 at 11:00 AM in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Contributions may be made to the Maryland State Troopers Association, 1300 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208 and/or The Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteenth St. NW, Washington, DC, 20006-3517.
