Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Compton, MD with Fr. Ronald Potts officiating and Fr. John Mattingly co-officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Bushwood, MD. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 5:00 -8 :00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD where prayers will be said at 7:00 PM. Mary Ann (Owens) Hall, 75, of Leonardtown, MD died August 30, 2009 at St. Mary’s Nursing Home. Born October 22, 1933 in Redgate (Leonardtown), MD she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Marie B. Heard Owens. She was the loving wife of the late L. Johnson Hall whom she married on October 22, 1956 in Immaculate Conception Church, Mechanicsville, MD and who preceded her in death on May 12, 1983 in Washington, DC. She is survived by her sisters; Betty Lou Knott (Alfred Knott) of Leonardtown, MD, Helen Marie Potts of Chaptico, MD and Frances Veronica Owens of California, MD. She was preceded in death by her siblings A. Marguerite Norris, Thomas J. Owens, Jr. and James A. Owens. A lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County, Mrs. Hall attended Our Lady’s School in Medley’s Neck, where she graduated from 8th grade in 1946. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD where prayers will be said at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Compton, MD with Fr. Ronald Potts officiating and Fr. John Mattingly co-officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Bushwood, MD. Pallbearers will be David A. Guy, Jr., Glenn Hall, Don Potts, Jay Clarke, Brooks Norris and Maguire Hall. Mary Ann "Sissy" Hall, 70, of Bryantown, MD (formerly of Coltons Point, MD) died March 30, 2004 in Hollywood, MD. Born September 8, 1933 in LaPlata, MD, she was the daughter of the late Francis McQue and Anna Mae Lawrence. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Henry Hall, who she married on June 21, 1952 in Holy Angels Church in Avenue, MD and who died May 20, 1982. She was the mother of Linda Hall of Bryantown, MD, Ronald E. Hall of Avenue, MD, Donald L. Hall of Burnsville, N.C., Francis L. Hall of Scotland, MD and Susan C. Barnes of California, MD. Mrs. Hall was sister to Theresa McNey, Judy Murphy, Diane VanWart, Ray Lawrence, Arthur Lawrence and James Lawrence, all of Mechanicsville, Susan Carrico of Lusby, MD, Clara DePew of Faulkner, MD, Joseph Lawrence of LaPlata, MD and the late Charles Lawrence, Mac Lawrence, Al Lawrence and Eleanor Lawrence.
