Mary Anne "Maureen" Harvey

March 25, 1944 ~ September 24, 2026

Born in: Edinburgh, Scotland
Resided in: Mechanicsville, Maryland

Mary Anne Harvey (Corrigan), “Maureen”, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on September 24, 2026, in Leonardtown, Maryland.

Maureen was born on March 25, 1944, in Edinburgh, Scotland. She met the love of her life, Darrell Harvey, while he was stationed in Scotland serving in the United States Air Force.  Maureen and Darrell were married on August 25, 1962, in St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Edinburgh, Scotland.

As a military wife, Maureen lived in many places during Darrell’s 20 years of military service. She loved to boast that all three of her children were born in different countries. Anne was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Deborah was born in San Antonio, Texas and Daniel was born in Taipei, Taiwan.

After retiring from the US Air Force, the family lived in Clinton, Maryland and, eventually settled in Mechanicsville, Maryland, having lived in the same home for 30 years. Maureen loved flowers, especially roses, and always had beautiful rose bushes in the backyard. She enjoyed crocheting and made many prayer shawls and scarves for her church family. Maureen enjoyed our annual family trips to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  These trips were so special and dear to her heart.

Maureen is survived by her cherished husband of 64 years, Darrell Duane Harvey.  Maureen’s memory will be forever be honored by her loving children, Anne Harvey-Diggs and Ken Diggs of Hughesville, MD, and Deborah Harvey and Kevin Lovgren of Blaine, MN, and Daniel Harvey and Frances (Gooding) Harvey of Mechanicsville, VA, her brother Gerard Corrigan and Janet (Muncie) Corrigan of Johnstown, PA, grandchildren, Adam Hunter, Michael Harvey, Alison Harvey, Ryan Harvey, and great grandchildren, Toni Hunter and Tommy Harvey. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her kindness, laughter and generous spirit.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret (Gallacher) Corrigan, father, Duncan Corrigan, step-mother, Catherine Corrigan, and grandson, Zachary Hunter.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 9:30AM to 10:30 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM in the funeral home chapel. May Maureen Rest in peace. We had some beautiful times with our lunch bunch celebrating birthdays. We will miss her sweet smile and happy memories we made. Our prayers love Sandy and Paul Callanan the Belles and the Beaus

  2. With Deepest Sympathy.

  3. Deb has been my friend for over thirty years, and Aunt Maureen was a truly special part of that history. She was such a kind soul. I still have the letters and cards she would occasionally send in the past to stay close. I will always treasure the memories of spending time with her whenever she would come to Minnesota. The wonderful trip to Scotland to visit Deb’s grandma, and the special trips to Maryland with Deb to visit her family, mean so much to me. Aunt Maureen leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, and her gentle presence will be missed more than words can say.

  4. Sending love and strength to the Harvey/Corrigan families during this difficult time. Maureen was a steady family matriarch, with a great sense of humor 🙂 who was deeply cherished and a lovely person who we got to know better through family holiday, events, and dinners on the Chesapeake in Maryland and in Johnstown PA. May her many happy memories live on! Our sincerest condolences — Gary and Cathy Quinn

  5. The true measure of a person is by the impact that they’ve had on others.
