Mary Ellen Norris, 84, of Hollywood, MD passed away on March 3, 2021 in Washington, DC. She was born on September 2, 1936 in Leonardtown, MD and was the daughter of the late Madeline Cullison and Leo Vincent Cullison. Mary was the loving wife of the late James Richard “Dickie) Norris, Sr. whom she married on April 21, 1956 in St. James Catholic Church Lexington Park, MD, and who preceded her in death on February 18, 2010. Mary is survived by her children Lynn Wallace of Hollywood, MD, Sharon Braswell (Bud) of Garner, NC, Janice Dunbar (Paul) of St. Inigoes, MD, Ricky Norris (Mary) of Hollywood, MD, Terry Yates of St. Inigoes, MD, Timmy Norris (Lisa) of Summerville, SC, Lisa Dean (Junior) of Lexington Park, MD, son in law Jimmy Trossbach of Drayden, MD. Along with 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; Siblings Robert “Butch” Cullison of Ridge, MD, and Leona Beyer of Ridge, MD. She was preceded in death by her daughter Diane Trossbach, and son in law Tommy Wallace; Siblings Catherine Ridgell, and Helen Angle. She was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident, and graduate of St. Michael’s Catholic High School in 1954. Mary was a cafeteria Aide for the St. Mary’s County Public School System, retiring after 40 years on June 11, 2003. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with prayers recited at 3:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 10:00 AM in St. John’s Catholic Church Hollywood, MD. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Wallace, Jason Braswell, Tyler Yates, Timmy Norris, Jr, Nathan Dean, and Tony Garcia, III. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Braswell, Devin Dean, Ryan Bean, and Landen Dean. Contribution may be made to the Leonardtown Vol. Rescue P.O. Box 299 Leonardtown, MD 20650. Condolences may be made to the family at www.mgfh.com. Arrangements provided by the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A. & Crematory Leonardtown, MD.

  3. What a wonderful person! Mary Ellen my childs great grandmother made us feel welcomed in her home always and hanging with her at family events. Such a great person to meet in our life. I wont forget the good times we had. Pictures and Memories will remind of the good times. May you rest in peace with Dickie and catch up on the good old days!
