Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 5 at 11:00 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD with Father Rory Conley officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Visitation: Public Visitation will be held Saturday, March 5 from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD. Mary E. "Chunks" Barnes, 66, of Leonardtown, MD died February 25, 2005 in Leonardtown, MD. Born August 20, 1938 in Chaptico, MD she was the daughter of Mary A. Somerville and the late James M. Somerville. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Barnes, whom she married on August 27, 1960 in Arlington, Va. She is survived by her children: Pamela Cassagnol and Marsha McKinnon both of Norfolk, VA., Eric Barnes and Reginald Barnes both of Leonardtown, MD, Marcus Harris, Sr. of Lexington Park, MD, Jacquelin Kohlasch of New Mexico and Blondell Logan of Baltimore, MD; brothers and sisters: Robert Somerville, Magdeline Somerville, Lawrence Somerville and Dorothy Somerville; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: John Somerville, William Somerville, Francis "Tootny" Somerville, James A. Somerville and James L. Somerville. Mrs. Barnes was a life long St. Mary's County resident where she attended St. Joseph's Catholic High School. She was a Custodian Supervisor for the St. Mary's County School Board for 25 years until her retirement in 2001. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 5 in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD from 9:30 AM â?? 11:00 AM where A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Father Rory Conley officiating.
