Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 15 at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church in Mechanicsville, MD with Father Peter Alliata officating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visitation: Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 14 from 5 til 8 PM in the funeral home, with prayers being said at 7:30 PM. Mary Jeanette Copsey, 70, of Mechanicsville, MD died October 11, 2004 in St. Mary's Nursing Center. Born January 31, 1934 in Rock Point, MD, she was the daughter of the late Beatrice Jackson and James R. Simms. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Richard Copsey, Jr., whom she married in Leonardtown, MD. Mrs. Copsey is survived by her children, Bertha (Bubbles) Conner and Milton (Tuggy) Copsey of Mechanicsville and four grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Althea Patricia Howell of Kentucky and her brothers, Lloyd (Junior) Lacey and William Victor (Billy) Jackson of Virginia and Allen Bennett Jackson of LaPlata, MD. Mrs. Copsey was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jane Copsey. She attended Rock Point School and was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time on the water, crabbing and being with her family. She also enjoyed solving crosswords and puzzles. The family received friends on October 14 at the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Jason Copsey, Allen Bennett Jackson, Joseph (Joey) H.
