Mary Lovenia Friess, 50, of Avenue, MD passed away on August 16, 2016 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on January 8, 1966 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Mary Jo Kemp of Avenue, MD and the late Deacon William Kemp. Mary was the loving wife of Bradley Friess whom she married on August 9, 1986 in All Saints Episcopal Church Avenue, MD. Mary is survived by her children: Kirsten Friess of Avenue, MD and William Friess of Avenue, MD. Siblings: Terri Wheeler of Clements, MD, Tom Kemp of Loveville, MD, Billy Kemp of Avenue, MD, and Beth Yates of Avenue, MD.
She was a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County, MD and graduated from Chopticon High School in 1985. Mary worked as a Member Service Representative for 11 years at Cedar Point Federal Credit Union Leonardtown, MD. Mary was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church Vestry, she enjoyed; reading, cooking, and spending time with family.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will be held at on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 10:00 AM in All Saints Episcopal Church Avenue, MD with Rev. Harry T. Harper priest in charge, and Rev. Kathleen Price celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Chris Friess, Billy Kemp, Tom Kemp, B.J. Kemp, Aaron Kemp and Chris Kemp.

So sorry to hear of Mary’s passing but she fought such a long and hard battle. She finally sprouted her wings and I’m sure she’s in Heaven with the rest of the Angels. God Bless you Mary and may you rest in peace.
I met Mary many years ago in 1997. It has always been a pleasure to be her nurse. She had wonderful personality and a fight in her that was amazing. She could brighten any ones day. She loved her family with all her heart. Rest easy Mary, you are an inspiration to us all.
Everyone is going to miss Mary’s smile at the Credit Union. She fought a long hard battle, but she was called to Heaven to share her love.

I knew Mary from my days at the credit union. She was very kind and good natured-a pleasure to work with. Mary will be well remembered and missed by many of us. My deepest sympathy to her children and her family.

Mary exemplified the qualities of a Christian in every sense of the word. Her bright smile, her listening ear, her loving concern for her family, friends and neighbors, her courage to face what came her way with faith and commitment,her spirit filled manner as chalice presenter,all of these will always be remembered. Mary was truly an angel in our midst.

We truly loved Mary’s spirit and great smile whenever we went into the bank. No matter how she was feeling, she never let it show. She was so brave and we truly admired her strength. We are going to miss her so deeply and are happy she is no longer suffering. She can finally rest and watch over her family.
