Mary Magdalene Lumpkins, 91, of Leonardtown, MD, passed away October 11, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 31, 1924 on St. George Island, MD, to the late Edward Ross Henderson and Alma Regina Robrecht. On December 14, 1951, Mary married her beloved husband, James Maurice Lumpkins at St. George Island United Methodist Church. Together they celebrated over 57 wonderful years together before his passing in June 2009. She was blessed with loving family, friends and a church family that all meant so much to her. Mary is survived by her three children, Robert Maurice Lumpkins and wife Nancie of St. George Island, MD, Linda Lumpkins Ebbets and husband Rob of Mechanicsburg, PA, and James Dennis Lumpkins and wife Christine of Piney Point, MD; six grandchildren: Ryan Lumpkins and wife McKenzie, Christopher Ebbets and wife Marin, Lance Lumpkins and fiancé Denise, Liza Ebbets, Steven Lumpkins, and Maddie Lumpkins; and great grandchild Levi Lumpkins. Family will receive friends on October 15th from 5pm – 7pm, with Prayers at 7pm, at First Saints Community Church, St. George Island Campus, St. George Island, MD. A Life Celebration Service will be held on October16th at 11am. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons Ryan, Christopher, Lance, and Steven; Mr. Al Sparks, Mr. Robert Smith, and Mr. Harry Gordon. Memorial Contributions may be made to Second District Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad.

    To the family of Miss Maggie, I send my heartfelt condolences! I only knew her for a short time from St. Mary’s Nursing Home but she was a beautiful lady. I liked to take my Dad in to visit her because she was always happy and seemed glad to see us. May she RIP in the arms of the Lord.
