Mary Shirley Miles

Mary “Shirley” Miles, 83, of Temple Hills, Maryland, formerly of Piney Point, Maryland, passed away on June 29, 2026, in Clinton, Maryland. She was born on December 20, 1942, in Piney Point, Maryland, and was the loving daughter of the late Violet Cecelia Robinson and Frederick Robinson.

Shirley is survived by her children, Angel Miles-Andrews of Cheltenham, Maryland, and Charlotte Bailey of Temple Hills, Maryland; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and siblings Dorothy Watson of Bladensburg, Maryland, and Michael Blackwell of Piney Point, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her daughter Katherine Cecelia Walker, siblings Joseph Robinson, Frederick Robinson, Arthur Robinson, Gary Robinson, James Robinson, and Robert Robinson.

She graduated from Jabberville High School and went on to work as a housekeeper at George Washington University for 30 years, retiring in 2008.

Shirley’s love was a steady and comforting presence in the lives of her family and all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and devotion that will continue to live on through the memories she created and the hearts she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. Where a Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Pernell Bailey, Nathaniel Bailey, Jermia Watson, Antione Brannum, Frederick Robinson, and Quentin Bailey.
