RIP Shipmate
We are so very saddened to hear of Mr. McCurdy’s passing. It has been such a joy to know Kathryn through our grandson, Trey, and we wanted to send our condolences to her and the family. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. God bless.
To Mike’s family, my most sincere condolences. Mike and I served together aboard the USS Constellation and when he was attached to Sigonella, Sicily, I was in Rota, Spain and we managed to go on detachments together in the Med. Which was always entertaining.
Mike’s dedication was 2nd to none. He will be sorely missed.
RIP Mike. Fair Winds and Following seas brother.
My sincere condolences to the McCurdy family. I have known Mike since 1987 when we were first stationed together at VS-35 NAS North Island, and then aboard the USS Constellation ’88-’90. We crossed paths again in Sigonella in the mid ’90s. Mike was great to work with, and fun to be around. Mike is greatly missed.
Rest in Peace, Mike Ol’ Buddy. I’ll miss you. Mike and I first met while attached to VS-41 at NAS North Island in 1979. I didn’t get to serve with him again, since I was always East Coast, till our tour together at the TSC in Sigonella from ’92 to ’95. Doug is right. Mike was dedicated. Worked hard. And was ALWAYS fun to be with. Always. And we had great times together when on detachment in the Med or there on the Island.
We both served our last tours in the Navy here at NAS Patuxent River. He went government, I went Contractor. So we would see each other from time to time but not regularly.
My sincere condolences to you, Debbie, and Kathryn.
Mike, You are now one of Heaven’s Angels. To Deb, Kat, Staci, Chris and Philip, may God give you peace. Mike will always be with you. He was a wonderful father, husband, and Christian. My memories go back to when he was born and I will miss him tremendously. I could tell you many wonderful stories–but the best is that Mike’s love for me as his aunt and my love for him was unbreakable over 60 years. Mike overcame many trials and tribulations and always came out on the other side with a smile and a laugh. He is gone too soon for all of us.
Debbie,
There are no words for the sadness we feel when we heard of Mike’s passing. Know that you are in our prayers, heart and thoughts as you and the family go through this difficult time. We are here for you always.
Pam and I wish to extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to the McCurdy Family. We knew Michael while he was at Lexington Park United Methodist Church and within the NAVAIR community. A man of good character, we always enjoyed working, talking and worshipping with Michael. We will miss him. Godspeed! CAPT Bill Dunkin and Mrs. Pam Dunkin

You all are in our thoughts and prayers. We wish we could be there to celebrate his life, but will be unable to make it. Mike was a wonderful person who will be truly missed. We will forever cherish the memories.
Dear McCurdy family,
I was sadden to hear of Mike’s passing. I did a rotation assignment in his old job while he did the same. We would always talk and sometimes take lunch with the 1.0 gang. He was always talking about his Daughter Kathryn and her lacrosse so proudly. Please accept our heartfelt condolences and we will keep the family in our prayers.
Debbie, I just learned of Mike’s passing yesterday and was in complete shock, as we had just bumped into each other at a Lacrosse game a few weeks ago! Mike looked great…but as we know too well, each day is a gift. How true that is! My heart hurts for you and Mike’s children. Pleased to say my last memory of Mike was with a big smile on his face as we talked about your beautiful daughter’s plans for college after she graduates in a few weeks! Much love and sympathy to you Debbie! Keeping you and the children in my prayers! Love, Betty
Dear Kathryn, I will always have a memory of your father when he brought you in for an interview at the Ye Olde Towne Café. You were nice and calm and he was so nervous for you… should I stay… should I go.. twitching. I remember you and I looking at each other and just smiling. I will always remember that special moment he was so nervous due to the love for his daughter. Kathryn, we send our condolences from all at the Café to you and your family. May God embrace each of you in his loving arms and all others who are grieving the loss. May his great wings of love give your broken heart a rest and comfort you with a glimpse of eternity. May your Dad rest in peace and his spirit soar high and beautifully.
Please accept the Leidos Team’s “Leidos Virginia Beach South” deepest and heartfelt condolences. Mike was a big supporter of the work we do here in Virginia Beach and a personal friend. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Dear McCurdy family we are still in disbelief that Mike has passed and we ache for your loss. Mike and I met in PMA 265 and hit it off immediately and then we found out we had so much in common with our family and kids. We cherish all the times we got to spend with the McCurdy family. We looked so forward to visiting Mike, Deb and Kathryn when we came up for Christmas from Alabama every year it was just so great to catch up and visit with such great people. I will remember forever Disney with our two families and all the visits and lunches and dinners. RIP in peace Big Guy and I am a better person for getting to call you my friend for life. Love from all of us here to the McCurdy family.
Deb and Kathryn, We pray for you all in Mike’s passing. We are here if we can help.
Love, Mark and Teresa 3019970493
McCurdy Family,
I am so shocked and stunned to hear of Mike’s passing this morning. I just saw him a month or so ago and he had that big smile on his face as always. Mike and I knew each other from NAVAIR and several training courses through the years. His love of his family was always evident as we shared stories of our children and spouses. I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of such a great man. Fair winds and following seas my friend.
To McCurdy family-
I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. My sympathies and prayers to your family
