Mildred Lee "Millie" Beckwith

Mildred “Millie” Lee Beckwith, 86, of St. Clement Shores, MD formerly from Lanham, MD passed away on November 3, 2014 in Solomon’s, MD. Born on November 15, 1927 in Montgomery, AL, she was the daughter of the late Mary Newsom Williams, and Olnest Quinten Williams. Millie was the loving wife of the late Jack Edward Beckwith. Millie is survived by her sons Jack Randoff Beckwith of Benedict, MD, Timothy Beckwith of Hollywood, MD, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Siblings; Earl Williams, Imogene Smith, and Margaret Stone. She was preceded in death by her son Daniel Beckwith. Millie graduated from McKinly High School in Washington, DC in 1944 and the University of Maryland with a Bachelors of Science Degree, and she worked as a secretary for IBM for 20 years retiring in 1988. She belonged to the United Methodist church and enjoyed playing piano and singing in the church choir. Millie was always a social butterfly who migrated annually from her home in St. Clements Shores to a mid winters stay in Myrtle Beach, SC, then to close out winter in Largo, FL. She would return every spring back to her home in St. Clements Shores for the summer. She will always be loved and missed by her family and friends. A private Memorial Service will be held in the spring of 2015 at the Shores.
