Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2005 at 2:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Schukraft officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at 11:00 AM in Arlington National Cemetery. Visitation: Public Viewing & Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2005 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. Neil Edward Singletary, Sr., 70, of Merritt Island, FL died September 12, 2005 in Solomons, MD. Born November 13, 1934 in Tampa, FL he was the son of the late Guite and Mildred Gainous Singletary. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Alsobrook Singletary whom he married in Albany, GA, in 1952 and his children, Sharon Ballsmith of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Cindy Solano and Trish Spidel of Lexington Park, MD and Neil Singletary, Jr. of Lexington, KY. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and his sisters, Carolyn Andleton of Fuquay Varina, NC and Frances Fell of Thomson, GA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Singletary. Mr. Singletary was a graduate of Summerville High School, Class of 1953 and Eastern Kentucky University, Class of 1975. He spent twenty-one years in service to his country in the U. S. Air Force prior to his retirement in 1974. The family will receive friends in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 16, 2005 from 1:00 â?? 2:00 PM. where a Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Keith Schukraft officiating. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Calvert County, P. O. Box 838, Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
