Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Constantine Star-Boszko says:

My Grandfather was one of the kindest humans I’ve ever met. I remember visiting their home in MD, and in Florida when I was very young, playing checkers and looking at lizards on the porch. I remember going to the movies with both my grandparents, and sneaking in home-made popcorn. I remember Grandpa Nick really enjoying the Pirates of the Caribbean series, he’d hum the theme and my sibling and I would hum along. I don’t remember him playing guitar around us; but I remember him saying my long fingers would be great for it. Alas, my musical career is more one of comedic strumming and plucking than anything fully melodic. I don’t remember this, but I do know that he and Grandma Lin helped support us when we were much, much smaller, and the family was struggling financially. And that care continued as I grew up, with yearly birthday calls, letters, deliveries of baked goods, and thoughtful gifts. I hadn’t seen either of them in person in a long time…And It makes me sad. I love Grandpa Nick very much.

  2. May you rest in peace, and may Grandma Lin find comfort in the coming days.

  3. Nick was quiet and kind, and sometimes a little goofy with his grandkids. He and Linda accepted me as part of their family and were there for us whenever we needed. They were especially helpful during my first pregnancy. After the birth of my eldest, Nick drove us from the birthing center in Bethesda Md. two hours home to southern Maryland. I remember how happy he was holding and playing with his grandchildren. I very much appreciate the love and acceptance I received and the love he showered on his grandchildren.

  4. Thinking of your family during this difficult time. Nick was a wonderful friend and will be deeply missed by Jayne and myself.
I have such fond memories of Nick at Great Mills High School. I can still remember our senior year when Nick, Gay Ferguson, Kathi Dixon and myself sat in the back of the cafeteria for lunch every school day. We were all such good friends. We talked about classes we had, our hopes and our futures. Of course Nick and I would start talking about the band, what songs we needed to learn, where we were playing next and what the Beatles were doing. Then there was Don Monahan (RIP). Don always kept us going with his easy demeaner and laughter. Nick and Don were the core of “The Inner Sanctum”
After that summer of 67, I had to move away with my family. However, seeing Nick again when I had to go to Patuxent River for work years later was a blessing. I enjoyed our golf games and our time together again and finding out he had married a wonder lady. Jayne and I were about to get married and she came to visit me in Pax, so we came to your house so she could meet Nick and Linda. Forty One years ago. We did not get to see each other since that time, but have kept in touch. Sorry I was not there on the 31st. I did not find out until later as Jayne and I were off celebrating our anniversary.
I will truly miss him and his annual catch up Christmas letters.
