A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2006, at 12:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel, with Fr. Joseph Sileo officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens.
Visitation:
Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2006, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with prayers being said at 7:00 PM.
Norman Joseph Goodwin, 67 of Lexington Park, MD died April 2, 2006 in St. Mary's Hospital. Born April 21, 1938 in Washington, D.C, he was the son of the late William Henry and Eva Tennyson Goodwin. He is survived by his wife Patricia A. Goodwin whom he married on March 13, 1965 in Leonardtown, MD. He is survived by his children Linda Sawvell and her husband Bob of Newport News, VA, and William Goodwin of Lexington Park, MD; brothers and sisters George L. Goodwin and William F. Goodwin both of Lexington Park, MD, Mary V. Spears of Cambridge, MD, Hilda Russell of St. Petersburg, FL and Helen Goodwin of Piney Point, MD; 2 grandchildren Stephen and Andrew Corcoran. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister Melvin Goodwin and Shirley Lozen. Mr. Goodwin was a lifelong St. Mary's County resident where he worked for the U.S. Government for 26 years until his retirement in August 2000. He enjoyed helping others during his retirement years and spending time with his grandsons. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 6, 2006 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2006 at 12:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Joseph Sileo officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tom Owens, Stephen Corcoran, Mike Hammett, Christopher Hammett, Toney Bryant and Leonard Lozen. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrew Corcoran and John Evans. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 415 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201-4101.
