Patricia Ann "Patty" Hemming
February 25, 1958 ~ January 31, 2020
Patricia Ann Hemming, “Patty” 61, of California, MD passed away on January 31, 2020 in Leonardtown, MD. She was born on February 25, 1958 in Leonardtown, MD and was the daughter of the late Mary Hemming and Henry Hemming. Patty is survived by her daughter Heather Henson of Great Mills, MD; siblings Joe Hemming of Ridge, MD, Charles Hemming of Ridge, MD, Agnes Bentley of Mechanicsville, MD, and Joan Gotwald of Alexandria, VA.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Jeanette Hemming and Catherine Hemming.
Patty was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident and graduate of Chopticon High School. Patty worked in acquisitions for a government contractor.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 10:00 AM with Father Ray Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Hemming, Bill Hemming, Bob Gotwald, Charles Hemming, Ray Sawjeko, and Jimmy Carter.





To the Hemming family I extend my condolences on a Patty’s passing. I did not know Patty well but did know the family and her sister Joan. May she rest in eternal peace.
