  1. She loved to laugh. She loved going on adventures and meeting new people, new experiences. She took chances outside her comfort zone like running through Atlanta airport during construction with no elevators, trolleys, moving sidewalks, only to find out flight was delayed then laughed about it.

She adored Italian and French cafe music (along with her country music) and would sit for hours listening and chatting over a cup of coffee and yes, sometimes tea. She bought a cafe table and chairs and would imagine herself in a lovely cafe. Yet, she was content to be home with its familiar comforts. Most of all, she adored her children and family and placed them often above herself. She was so proud of every one of them. She loved being at home and getting visits like I remember we did with Granma. She was a great listener and was always ready with a hug.

I will miss that generation of people. It seems modern life keeps us busy. I would sometimes get a call from my own Granma reminding me it was time for a visit which told me, I’d been “too busy” and forgetting what was important. Aunt Pat was that midway point to Granma’s who gave shelter when I’d not had enough sleep to make the trip from “up the road” or the roads were too bad to navigate. At times she was my beacon. We often can do for others which we don’t seem to feel we deserve or are strong enough to do for ourselves and she would point this out to me. I will miss you Aunt Pat and hope you gain the wings to explore where your body and time couldn’t take you. 😔🙏🙏❤️❤️

  2. Sending so much love to all of you! Aunt Patricia had such a BIG heart (the size of Texas)!!! 6. Bobby, Pammy and Rick, I am so sorry about your mothers passing. Just know that she is in Heaven with the rest of her family. I will be unable to attend services, but just know that I will keep you in my prayers.

  7. I wanted to share my appreciation for how kind Pat was to my mother, Shirley (Kolc) Schlegel when she was visiting Shirley Rock (Pat’s sister) in June 2016. My Mom and Shirley were long-time friends and my Mom had Alzheimers (and passed in Jan 2022). I came across a kind note from Pat to my Mom: “We truly enjoyed your visit. May God and his angels abide with you and grant you good health and joy.” I am grateful for the kindness shown to my Mom. Rest in peace in God’s care. – Amy (Schlegel) Rice
