Paul Linton Beavers, Sr., 75, of Hollywood, MD passed away on July 17, 2021 at his home. He was born on August 22, 1945 in Washington, DC. He was the son of the late Harriette M. Beavers and Willard L. Beavers. Paul was the loving husband of Joan Abell Beavers whom he married on April 28, 1967 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hollywood, MD. Paul is survived by his children Paul L. Beavers, Jr. of Hollywood, MD, Jeffrey E. Beavers, Sr. (Heather) of Hollywood, MD, two grandchildren Meagan Beavers (Chris) and Jeffrey Beavers, Jr., and one great grandchild Christopher Hobbs, along with his brother Michael Beavers (Sally) of SC. He was preceded in death by his siblings Wayne Beavers and Patty Johnson. Paul was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident. He graduated from Leonardtown High School in 1963. He retired from PEPCO/Chalk Point Power Plant in 2005. Paul’s grandchildren Meagan, Jeffrey Jr., and Christopher were his pride and joy, and he truly loved them. Paul took up farming some time ago for a hobby. He took great pride in his crops, and, at one time, he was farming 100 acres under “Red Hill Farms”. He loved tractor pulls, bluegrass music, and going to live shows. He enjoyed taking family vacations in Virginia Beach, VA, trips to the casinos, and going on cruises with Joan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Father Keith Woods officiating. Interment will be private. Serving as pallbearers are Raymond Beavers, Harold Insley, Brian Wilson, Bobby Russell, Stephen Russell, and Son Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be Meagan Beavers, Jeffrey Beavers, Jr., and Christopher Hobbs. Contributions may be made Hollywood Vol. Rescue Squad P.O. Box 79 Hollywood, MD 20636.

  2. To Mrs. Beavers and family. I am very sorry to learn of Paul’s passing. I worked with Paul for a number of years at Chalk Point Generating Station. Lots of fond memories working alongside Paul. I had lost contact with Paul for several years, however I saw him a couple of years ago at a mutual friends Funeral services. He looked really good and he was as glad to see me as I was to see him.
