Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM with Pastor Clyde Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Visitation: Viewing & Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home from 5:00 - 8:00 PM with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM Phebe Catherine Jordan, 89, of Mechanicsville, MD formerly of Suitland, MD died December 28, 2005 in Genesis Elder Care, La Plata, MD. Born August 26, 1916 in Capital Heights, MD she was the daughter of the late James F. and Zelphia Eliz Norton, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband John Emory Jordan, Sr. on December 9, 1982 in Mechanicsville, MD whom she married in Forestville, MD. She is survived by her children: Betty M. Kopfle of Manassas, VA, Joan M. Wathen of Mechanicsville, MD, John E. Jordan, Jr. of Hughesville, MD, Charles R. Jordan of Uniondale, PA and Steve Jordan of California, MD; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Harmon Norton, James F. Norton, Jr., Edward L. Norton and Florence Z. Raum. Mrs. Jordan attended Maryland Park High School and moved to St. Mary's in 1961, from Prince George's County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers beings said at 7:00 PM.
