A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD with Deacon Bill Nickerson officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, MD.
Visitation:
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD.
Phyllis Sandra “Wingy” Poole, 72, of Avenue, MD, passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 25, 2012 in Callaway, MD. Born on May 20, 1939 in Watertown, NY she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Marion Bush Lobdell. Phyllis is survived by her children: Robin Owen of Bushwood, MD., Kevin Poole, Steven Poole both of Avenue, MD, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a sister Janet Russell of NV. She is preceded in death by her brothers: Jack Lobdell, Ronnie Lobdell and Vickie Lobdell of NY. Mrs. Poole moved from Prince George’s County, MD to St. Mary’s County, MD in 1971. She worked as a property manager for Poole Properties for 30 years retiring in 1995. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home with Deacon Bill Nickerson officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be: Steven Poole, Larry Burdette, Charlie Haynes, Kevin Poole, Kevin Owen, and Chris Poole. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Douglas Poole and Matt Poole. Contributions may be made to Hospice House of St. Mary’s P.O. Box 625 Leonardtown, MD 20650.

There isn’t enough text for me to say all the good things about my Aunt Phyllis but I know she loved her children and family, she had a big heart and had the softest skin of anyone that ever gave me a hug. I will miss her voice and her smile. She will never be forgotten.”
