Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 4, 2005 at 12:30 PM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bushwood, MD with interment to follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD Visitation: Viewing and Visitation will be held Friday, November 4, 2005 from 10:30 AM to 12 Noon in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel. Preston Alonza Tyer, Sr., 51, of Bushwood, MD died October 29, 2005 in St. Mary's Hospital. Born February 17, 1954 in Bushwood, MD he was the son of the late Charles Phillip and Susan Gertrude Tyer. He was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline Cecelia Hall Tyer in 2001. He is survived by his children: Preston Tyer, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Crystal Fleming of Laurel, MD, Devonne Hall and Myschia Hall both of Bushwood, MD; brothers and sisters: Charles Tyer of Columbia, MD, Oscar Tyer and Marion Tyer both of Bushwood, MD, Wilhelmina Dodger of Roselle, NJ, Juliana Tyer of Leonardtown, MD, Randy Tyer of Nashville, TN, Daniel Tyer of Lexington Park, MD and Martin Tyer of Atlanta, GA and 2 grandchildren. Mr. Tyer is a graduate of Chopticon High School Class of 1972. He was a life long St. Mary's County resident where he worked as a construction worker. He enjoyed playing cards, shopping with his daughter, driving around and spending the holidays with his family. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 4, 2005 from 10:30 AM â?? 12:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 PM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Francis Early officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be John Tyer, Lawrence Tyer, Charles Armstrong, Oscar Tyer, Jr., Ryan Hall and Philip Tyer. Arrangements provided by the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A.
