Services: Private Visitation: The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 3:00PM - 4:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. Queen “Esther” Miller, 79, of Lexington Park, MD was born on December 29, 1933 in Cleveland, OH. She was called home on October 25, 2013. Esther spent most of her life in Cleveland, Ohio, until she was called on by her son in 1988 to help raise his children, in Maryland after his wife’s death. After, moving to St. Mary’s County, MD., Esther became involved in the St. Mary’s County Senior Center by attended many of their events as well as volunteer. Esther was known for her knitting and crocheting. Esther was a very proud mother and grandmother telling stories to anyone who would listen of her son who was a Naval Chief Flight Engineer. Esther was preceded in death by her husband Walter Miller, her brother Albert Brown, two sisters Shirley Hamm, and Velma Taylor and daughter-in-law Deborah Daniels. Esther is survived by her son James Daniels, Sr. (Venice), grandchildren James Daniels, Jr. (Chrissy) and Ta Kecia Daniels, great grandchildren, Devonte, Aleksandr, Darius, Deborah Joyce, and Chloe. Esther is mourned by her nieces and nephew Alena Burton, Sabrina Roberts, Tangie Roberts, and Tommy Roberts of Ohio. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD.
