Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 16 at 10 AM in St. John's Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD with Father Raymond Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's cemetery.
Visitation:
A public visitation will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, August 15 from 2 - 5 PM with prayers being said at 3 PM.
Raymond J. "Ray" Faulstich, Jr., 24, of Leonardtown, MD died on August 5, 2004 in Najaf, Iraq. Born May 13, 1980 in Leonardtown, he was the son of Raymond Joseph and Linda Sue Johnson Faulstich, Sr. of Leonardtown. He was the loving husband of Crystal Dawn Faulstich, whom he married on August 29, 2003 in Leonardtown, MD. Mr. Faulstich is also survived by a brother, Greg Faulstich of Leonardtown and a sister, Jackie Stone of Rockville, Maryland. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in March 2003 and completed Basic Training at Ft. Sill, OK. He then completed AIT training at Ft. Leonardwood, MO. and was assigned to Ft. Eustis, VA. Mr. Faulstich was awarded the following honors during his career in the U. S. Army: National Defense Service Medal and Ribbon; Terrorism Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Ribbon; Good Conduct Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Purple Heart Medal and Bronze Star Medal. Ray's hobbies included fishing, cars and video/computer games. Prayers will be said on Sunday, August 15, 2004 at 3:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. In addition to the Military Honor Guard, honorary pallbearers for Mr. Faulstich will be Justin L. Miller, Curtis Cook, Donnie J. Miller, Jr., Harrell T.
