Robert Jason Wynn, 72, of Lexington Park, MD, formerly of San Diego, CA, passed away on February 25, 2025, in Leonardtown, MD. Born on September 7, 1952, in Kingsville, TX, he was the son of the late Mary Gaynell Smith and Haskell Ray Wynn. Robert was the loving husband of the late Esther Jane Wynn, whom he married on November 10, 1979, in San Diego, CA, and who preceded him in death on November 24, 2024. He is survived by his son, Jason Gage Wynn, of California, MD, his siblings, Jim R. Wynn of Canyon Lake, TX and Ruth Powers of Dallas, TX. Robert graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1971 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1988 from National University. He moved from San Diego, CA to St. Mary’s County, MD in 1992. Robert worked for Dyncorp and then the Computer Science Corporation as a Program Manager for 30 years, retiring in 2008. He served in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer 3rd Class for six years, from January 28, 1972 to January 27, 1978. He served aboard the USS Guitarro and earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Expeditionary Medal. He was a husband, father, brother, uncle, and cousin, but mostly Robert was a kind and gentle soul who had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a man who responded to God's call to be a caregiver for his loving wife the last 10 years of her life. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Chris Whetlor officiating.
