A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Morganza, MD with Fr. Keith Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation:
Public visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 from 4 - 8 PM with prayers being said at 7:00 PM followed by Optimist Prayers at 7:10 PM
Robert Lewis "Pop" Anderson, Sr., 89, of Clements, MD died August 19, 2005 in St. Mary's Hospital. Born October 20, 1915 in Mechanicsville, MD he was the son of the late James Briscoe and Cora Eva Williams Anderson. He was the husband of Lucy Hurry Anderson whom he married on November 1, 1937 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Morganza, MD. He is survived by his children Robert Lewis Anderson, Jr. of Clements, MD and Virginia Mae Pierce of Coltons Point, MD; brother Albert Anderson of Mechanicsville, MD; sisters Gladys Barber of Mechanicsville, MD, Marie Chesley of Oakville, MD, Helen Thompson of Solomons, MD and Elva Wood of Leonardtown, MD; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings Herman Anderson, Adrian Anderson, Harold Anderson, Briscoe Anderson and Everett Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a life long St. Mary's County resident where he attended Mechanicsville High School. He was the Proprietor of Anderson's Bar. In his early years he enjoyed fox hunting and tournament jousting. It was his love for horses that led him to the Belgian horses and pulling contests. Until recently he would work with his horses in preparation for upcoming pulls. He was a family man who loved family gatherings, good food and friends. The family received friends on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 in Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Morganza, MD with Father Keith Woods officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blair Anderson, Craig Anderson, George Gibson, Todd Gibson, Josh Pierce and Lee Pilkerton. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Hall, III, J.D. Clarke, Debbie Bailey, Sandy Thomas, Jack Hester and Bill Bailey. Hitchmen will be Roy Guy, Jennings Anderson and Bert Anderson and Driver Bruce Barnes. Contributions may be made to 7th District Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 7, Avenue, MD 20609. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, with Pastor Dan Moore officating. Interment will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD.
Robert (Bob) Lewis Anderson, 67, of Hollywood, MD., passed away on June 9, 2013 in Washington, DC. Born on March 10, 1946, he was the son of the late Clyde M. and Christina A. Sagendorf Anderson. Robert is survived by his siblings; Barbara Rottet of Dover, NH, and William Anderson of Tifton, GA. Robert Graduated from Hillsborgh High School in 1963, and Purdue University in 1969 with a Bachelors of Science Degree. Robert severed in the Unites States Navy as a Pilot for 20 years earning the Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Service Medal, beginning in 1966, and retiring in 1986. After retirement, he worked as a boat mechanic.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. Pallbearers will be; Matthew Menard, Tommy Chedester, Phillip B. Long, David Kalil, Greg Stacklelczyk, and Lewis Rochester.
