Services: Funeral Services will be held on June 14, 2005 in St. Nicholas Chapel,Naval Air Station,Patuxent River at 10:00 AM with Chaplin John Rozema officiating. Interment will be Private. Visitation: Public Visitation will be held on June 13, 2005 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. Robert Ray "Bobby" Norris, 23, of Avenue, MD died June 6, 2005 in San Diego, CA. Born July 3, 1981 in Leonardtown, MD he was the of Joseph "Fuzzy" and Kathy J. Norris, Jr. of Avenue, MD. He is survived by his brother Bernard E. Norris of California, MD. Mr. Norris was a life long St. Mary's County resident where he graduated from Chopticon High School Class of 1999. He also graduated from Northern Virginia Community College Class of 2001 with an Associates Degree with the Ford ASSETT Program. He served in the U.S. Navy from October 15, 2002 until Present aboard the USS Ashville. He received The Sub - Surface Pin, The National Defense Service Medal, The Naval & Marine Corp. Expeditionary Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Medal and The Sea Service Deployment Medal. Bobby enjoyed jet, water and snow skiing, wake boarding, auto racing and spending time with his family and friends at Lake Anna, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 13, 2005 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at 10:00 AM in St. Nicholas Chapel, Naval Air Station Patuxent River, with Chaplin John Rozema officiating and Rev. Fred Gray of Open Door Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia co-officiating. Interment will be Private. Pallbearers will be Allan Mayor, Steven Pilkerton, Steve Guy, Bobby Long, David Rollins and Wes Ryce. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sam Kovacic, Ray Guy, Ken Sadel, Bill Vaughan, Richard Cooley and Ted Null. Arrangements provided by Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A.
