Robin Marie Poe, 58, of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away on November 14, 2021 in Washington, DC. Born on October 21, 1963 in Leonardtown, MD to the late Elmo Jackson Hicks and the late Mary Evelyn Evan Hicks, Robin was raised in Hollywood, MD along with her seven brothers. She was the loving wife of Dale W. Poe, Sr., whom she married on December 28, 1987 in Leonardtown, MD. Robin is survived by her children Gary Kavaky, Jr. (Brooks-Ann) of Spotsylvania, VA, Dawn Poe Johnson (Larry) of Corinth, MS, Don Johnson of Corinth, MS, and Dale Poe, Jr. of Mechanicsville, MD, her siblings Ronald Hicks (Chery) of North Carolina, Thomas Hicks (Betsy) of St. Leonard, MD, Jack L. Hicks (Kim) of Leonardtown, MD, brother-in-law Randy Poe (Anna) of Lexington Park, grandchildren Chris, Brianna, Adam, Caroline, Chloe, and Alana, two great grandchildren, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Joseph A. Hicks, Richard Hicks, Timothy R. Hicks, and John L. Hicks. Robin was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident, and graduated from Leonardtown High School. Robin had met the love of her life, Dale W. Poe, Sr., and together they shared four amazing children, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Robin loved to go out dancing with Dale, and they were known as “The Dancing Poes.” Robin was such a fun-loving person who never knew a stranger, as she took the time to speak and share her kind spirit with all she knew and met. Robin’s hobbies included her baking with Ol Big Red (mixing), working in her flower gardens with her beautiful flowers, and sit and enjoy the outdoors with her two beloved fur babies, Trixie and Reese. Robin also loved playing pool and was on a league. She loved to get together with Dale and her friends and sing karaoke, especially known for singing Loretta Lynn’s Coal Miner’s Daughter, among many other favorites. Robin loved to be near the water, especially St. George’s Island to watch the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and she loved her seafood. Robin loved her family so much, spending time with her family, siblings, and good friends is what mattered to her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier, St. George’s Island, MD with Father Paul Nguyen officiating.
