Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Morganza, MD with Father Keith Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Visitation:
Viewing & Visitation will be held on Monday, August 15, 2005 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM with Prayers being said at 6:00 PM.
Rose Cecelia "Momma Rose" Scriber, 87, of Clements, MD formerly of Hollywood, MD died August 10, 2005 in Compton, MD. Born February 14, 1918 in Hollywood, MD, she was daughter of the late James Buster and Della Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis I. Scriber, whom she married on July 25, 1950 in St. John's Catholic Church. She is survived by her children: Helen Williams of Landover, MD, Mary Scriber of Jacksonville, FL, Wanda Scriber, James Scriber, Roger Scriber, Gloria M. Scriber, Gloria A. Scriber and Rose C. Scriber all of Clements, MD; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Della Berry, Estella Bennett, Mary Mills, Elizabeth Goldring, Richely Mills, Wallace Mills and Stephen Mills and daughter Mary Butler. Mrs. Scriber was a life long St. Mary's County resident where she attended Banneker High School. She worked as a Dry Cleaner, Housekeeper and Babysitter after many years of service she decided to retire in 1988. Her hobbies were cooking, canning, gardening, playing games, slot machines, sewing, helping her family and others. The family received friends on Monday, August 15, 2005 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Morganza, MD with Father Keith Woods officiating. Interment followed in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Scriber, Roger Scriber, Marvin Resper, Zack Mattingly, Bo Butler and Ralph Hendsley. Honorary Pallbearers were David Herbert, Brandon Stubbs, Marvin Wood, Marvin Williams, Terrella Butler and Joseph Williams. Contributions may be made to St. Mary's Cancer Support Group, P.O.
