Rose Marie Bailey, “Marie”, 94, of Leonardtown, MD, passed away on January 15, 2025. Born on April 19, 1930, in Leonardtown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Mary M. Rusell and the late Wilson Russell. Marie was the loving wife of the late John L. Bailey, Jr., whom she married on June 22, 1949, and who preceded her in death on June 25, 2000. She is survived by her children, Ray Bailey (Pat) of Leonardtown, MD and Margaret Vicente (JR) of Lubbock, TX, her sister, Irene Dixon of Leonardtown, MD, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by her siblings, Merle Russell, Skip Russell, and Edith Wood.
Marie was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident and graduated from Margaret Brent High School. She was a homemaker, as well as a kitchen aide at Dynard Elementary School from 1974-1977 and at the Officer’s Club from 1980-1984.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM with Father David Beaubien officiating. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Robbie Bailey, Michael Clarke, Mark Wood, Josie Vicente, Jerriko Vicente, and Eric Frederick. Honorary pallbearer will be Jared Vicente.

Aunt Marie would tap on the granddads window on Sunday morning to wake me so that we could both go to 7:00 mass at Holy Angels.
Aunt Marie attended the last Bailey Reunion with Junior and I.
Ray and family; MaryAnn and family, Junior and I send our deepest sympathies to you. We wish you peace to bring you comfort, the courage to face the days ahead, and loving memories of Aunt Marie to forever hold in your hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. She was always there helping each of us to become the very best we could be. Aunt Marie always thought of all of us as her own children. We will never forget her.
Ray , Pat and Family, So sorry to hear of Maries passing, We Appreciated the call. Marie was a Lovely lady always with a smile and laughter. Many Wonderful memories of Marie and Irene and of course Momma talking about all the things they had done as children and how close they were as sisters, Now Marie is with her Beloved Husband and Sister.
