Rose Marie Williams

Rose Marie H. Williams, age 90, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Tuesday 3/24/2020. Rose Marie was born in Hollywood, MD to George Alexander Hebb and Leoma Goldsborough Hebb on 12/4/1929. In addition to her father and mother, Rose Marie is preceded in death by her sister Mary Lee Hodges. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Tommy, her sisters Lorraine Penland and Betty Hebb, her son Tom, her daughter Pattie Dickinson, son-in-law Rob Dickinson and her grandchildren Kevin Curran and Miranda Dickinson. Rose Marie grew up on her parent’s farm in Hollywood, MD in St. Mary’s County. She attended St. John’s school, St. Mary’s Academy and earned her bachelor’s degree at the American University in Washington, DC. Rose Marie worked as a secretary for the Carrier Corporation where she met her husband Tommy. She raised her children in her home of 45 years in Potomac, MD. She worked also as an assistant at her husband’s law practice later in life. A devote Catholic, Rose Marie was involved in many school activities and church functions at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School and Church in Potomac. She and her husband were also active members of Cosmopolitan International, a service organization primarily supporting diabetes research in North America. She had many and varied interests including the arts, interior decorating, travel, book club and bible study. She was a voracious reader and dedicated herself to continued learning throughout her life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday July 1st at St. John's Catholic Church in Hollywood, Maryland at 10:30am with Father Leigh Fangmeyer officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities/Catholic Relief Services.
