Ruth Rosetta Quade

Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 27, 2006 at 10:00 AM in First Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Schukraft officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation: Viewing/Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2006 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers being said at 3:00 PM. Ruth Rosetta Quade, 57, of Valley Lee, MD died March 21, 2006 in George Washington University Hospital. Born October 6, 1948 in Ridge, MD she was the daughter of the late Claude Washington and Laura Gray Tharpe. She was the beloved wife of Roland Eugene Quade whom she married on July 3, 1969 in Leonardtown, MD. She is survived by her children: Heidi Bowles and Georgie Quade both of Valley Lee, MD; brothers and sisters: William Tharpe of Drakes Branch, VA, Robert Tharpe of Denheim Springs, LA, Joan Pulignano of Whiting, NJ, Ann Grym of Bellmore, NY, Darlene Tharpe and Steve Tharpe both of Lexington Park, MD; 1 grandchild: Shelbee Bowles; 15 nieces and nephews and 19 grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Danny Tharpe and Terry Tharpe. Mrs. Quade was a life long St. Mary's County resident where she was a graduate of Great Mills High School Class of 1968. She worked as a caregiver. Ruth was an exceptional person with a great sense of humor, very definite ideas of what she wanted, never saw the bad in anyone and never gave up on anything or anyone. She has touched so many lives. Ruth was a devoted nanny to her "Shelbee Boo â?? Boo" and Shelbee returned her devotion. Her talents include cooking, arts & crafts, puzzles, taking photos and most of all playing bingo. It was such a blessing to have her in our lives; we will all miss her dearly. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 26, 2006 from 2:00 â?? 5:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers being said at 3:00 PM. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ken Grym, Bobby Wimberly, Steve Tharpe and Shelbee Bowles. Contributions may be made to the 2nd District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, P.O.
