I feel so bad that I did not know Sandy as well as the rest of the family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
Sandra Elizabeth “Sandy” Schlosser, 66, of California, Maryland, passed away on June 3, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She left this world surrounded by the love of her family and the memories of a life shaped by kindness, creativity, and quiet strength.
Born on January 30, 1960, to Robert Louis Stone and Catherine Ann Stone, Sandy grew up on the family farm in Park Hall, Maryland. Her childhood among open fields and animals nurtured her lifelong appreciation for art, nature, and the simple joys that many overlook.
For more than 35 years, Sandy devoted her talent and precision to her work as a drafter/designer at BAE Systems, where she was admired for her skill, reliability, and unwavering work ethic.
A gentle soul with a deep love for animals, Sandy welcomed every stray that crossed her path. Her home and yard became a refuge for neighborhood cats and wildlife, all drawn to the compassion she carried so naturally. She was also a gifted artist, expressing herself through detailed drawings and creative crochet projects that brought beauty and comfort to those fortunate enough to receive them.
She shared a profound and special bond with her son, Adam Ford Schlosser, whom she often described as her greatest accomplishment. Adam devoted himself to her care throughout her illness, ensuring she was surrounded by comfort, dignity, and love.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Louis Stone and Catherine Ann Stone, and her brother, Robert Maurice “Moe” Stone.
Sandy is survived by her devoted sisters, Catherine Maria “Kelly” Sonntag (Billy) of Avenue, Maryland, and Roberta Ann Sola (Jonathan) of St. Mary’s City, Maryland; as well as her beloved nieces and nephews: Robert Lee Raley, Kimberly Ann Murray, Sofia Isabella Sola, and Evan Archer Sola. Their relationships were marked by deep affection, shared memories, and lifelong support.
Sandy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, artistic soul, and boundless kindness. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and every creature she ever cared for.
