Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church Chaptico, MD with Father John Mattingly officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers at 7:00 PM with Deacon Bill Nickerson officiating in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. Shirley Ann Huntington, 75, of Mechanicsville, MD formerly of Chaptico, MD passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 19, 2012 in Frederick, MD. Born on March 19, 1937 she was the daughter of the late James Walter and Anna Marie Hill Gragan. Shirley was the loving wife of Robert Sylvester Huntington whom she married on September 3, 1956 in Chaptico, MD. Mrs. Huntingon is survived by her son Glenn Dale Huntington (Karen) of Frederick, MD daughter in law Jennifer of Avenue, MD., and siblings: Milly Norris of Hollywood, MD., Lathan Gragan of Chaptico, MD., and 4 grandchildren. Shirley is preceded in death by a son Robert Wayne Huntington, siblings: Dorothy Vallandingham, Annabelle Copsey, James Gragan, Bernadette Dingee, and Nancy Miedzinski. Mrs. Huntington attended Margaret Brent School and worked as a cafeteria worker at White Marsh Elementary school for 40 years. Shirley loved caring for her grandchildren, enjoyed music and dancing. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 10: 00 AM in Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, Chaptico, MD with Father John Mattingly officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Cemetery, Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be: Ryan Huntington, Taylor Huntington, Glenn Huntington, Kurtis Tyler, Michael Hughes, and Jerry Norris.
