Shirley Mae Sebacher

Shirley Mae Sebacher, 91, of Lexington Park, MD, passed away on September 26, 2026, at her home. Born on December 24, 1934, in St. Charles, MO, she was the daughter of Edward H. Borgilt and Irene Purler Borgilt. Shirley was the loving wife of Daniel I. Sebacher, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by their children, Kim Fancher (Scott) of Sammamish, WA, Lynn Sebacher of Hampton, VA, and Kurt Sebacher of Lexington Park, MD; her brother, Robert Borgilt of Ashland, OR; as well as nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Shirley was proceeded in death by her son Andrew Sebacher.

Shirley worked as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines and as a secretary for McDonnell Aircraft in St. Louis, MO, in the 1950s. She excelled at sports, especially softball and tennis, and followed baseball her entire life. She loved New Orleans jazz, big-band music, and classical music. In later years, she traveled with her husband, Daniel, assisting him in his work as a climate field researcher for NASA. After retirement, she especially loved visiting the national parks in her Minnie Winnie RV. She became an expert birder and seashell collector.
