Services: A Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at 6:00 PM with Bishop William McClean officiating. Visitation: Public Visitation will be in the funeral home Tuesday, June 8, 2004 from 5 - 6 PM Ursula Elisabeth Martha "Beth" Smith, 65, of Lexington Park, MD, died June 1, 2004 in Lexington Park, MD. Born October 8, 1938 in Berlin, Germany she was the daughter of the late Helene and Reinhold Bahr. She was the loving wife of the late John Melvin Smith whom she married December 22, 1962 in New York, NY. She was the devoted mother of Michelle Smith of Lexington Park, MD and Michael Smith of Waldorf, MD. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren; Christopher and Gwendolyn Smith. Mrs. Smith moved to St. Mary's County in 1963 and was an Electronics Clerk for the Navy Exchange at Patuxent River, MD for 8 years. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 8, 2004 from 5-6:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A, where a Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 PM with Bishop William McClean officiating.
