May 10, 1938 ~ September 14, 2024

Virginia “Ginger” Lee Bunker, “Grammee,” 86, of Lexington Park, MD, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Born on May 10, 1938, in Brainerd, MN, she was the daughter of the late Blanche Burchett and the late Arthur Bangston. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Benzinger of Hillsboro, ND, her daughters, Jody Hass (Robert) of Scottsdale, AZ, Julie Tracy (Robert) of Hollywood, MD, and Tonya Lakner of California, MD, her grandchildren, Molly Tracy of Seattle, WA, Jay Tracy (Miranda) of California, MD, and two great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her sister, Venita Seefield, and her granddaughter, Jamie Emory. Virginia and her family moved to Lexington Park, MD in 1976, and, a few years later, she started her business as an antique dealer. Over the next 40 years, her business expanded and she had as many as five antique shops at the same time in the PA-MD-VA area. In addition, her extensive knowledge of antique furniture enabled her to become a licensed appraiser for the Southern Maryland area in the 80s and 90s. She continued to work as a successful businesswoman until December 2023. Virginia loved gardening as well, and her yard was always full of beautiful flowering plants and trees throughout most of the year. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and she was a very important part of their lives. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11 AM at Patuxent Presbyterian Church, 23421 Kingston Creek Road, California, MD 20619. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org/get-involved/ways-to-give, or mail to American Lung Association, National Direct Response, P.O. 1. Ginger had such a love of antiques and she loved her children and grandchildren very much. I remember her helping Jody and I furnish our first apartment in Baltimore with beautiful antique furniture. What a nice treat for two poor college graduates! My love and prayers to the family at this difficult time.

    Love,
    Mary Anne
