  5. We were stationed on the CGC Vigilante and at ANT Galveston together. He was quite the character. My first time in a OTH with him as the coxswain. He miss judged a wave and launched us into the air. When we landed, he played it off like nothing happened. When heckled about it, he said we just needed to be more aware. I do believe he was watching the whales on the port side, like everyone else. I laugh about that memory today. I’m very sad to hear about his passing. Fair winds and following sea!

  6. Warren was my very first BM3 when were stationed on the CGC Vigilant. He was so kind, all the way down to his core. With all of the stress, and fun, I never recall him ever saying one negative thing about another human. He was such a sweet guy and always made us laugh. Sometimes it would take a second for our brains to catch up to his humor; he was quick, but always snuck in the jokes. Just a good-hearted guy. That tour would not have been as fun without him. Im very sad to hear about his passing and I hope his family and other friends can find comfort in knowing he positively impacted many lives in the Coast Guard. Rest in peace, shipmate. Gone but never forgotten.

  7. Was nice to serve with a fellow “Gardner” together on the Vigilant in 2011-2012. He was intelligent, kind, and patient with the nonrates. Such a sad loss.

  8. I was one of Warren’s supervisors for a time when we served together on the USCGC Vigilant. Warren was a great guy, always in high spirits and always a smile on his face. My deepest condolences to his family. He was a great asset to the Coast Guard! He will be greatly missed
