Services: A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at 7:00 PM with Fr. Ray Schmidt officiating. Interment will be on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 10:00 AM in Charles Memorial Gardens. Visitation: Public Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 from 5 - 8 PM. Wendy Ann Shaffer, 48, of Hollywood, MD died September 6, 2004 at her home. She was born July 12, 1956 to the late Spencer Joseph Wallace and Mary Edna Readmond Wallace. She was the loving wife of John Paul Shaffer whom she married on June 10,1978 in Pittsburgh, PA and the devoted mother of Christopher Shaffer of Philadelphia, PA and Jennifer Shaffer of Hollywood, MD. She is also survived by her brothers John Wallace, Mike Wallace and Joseph Wallace of Hollywood, MD, George Wallace of California, MD, and Thomas Wallace of Great Mills, MD and her sisters, Brenda Brooks of Great Mills, MD, Simone Hill of Hollywood, MD. Mrs. Shaffer is also survived by one grandchild and preceded in death by her sister Carolyn Barcikowski. She was a lifelong St. Mary's County resident and a graduate of Great Mills High School Class of 1974 and the College of Southern Maryland in 2001 with an Associates Degree in Accounting. Mrs. Shaffer was employed for nine years as a Fiscal Clerk for the State of Maryland, Department of Social Services. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home where a Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ray Schmidt officiating.
